Creative 1%Co-Creation

For quite some time the 1%CLUB organizes 1%Co-creations that connects 1%Projectowners, creative people, and companies. During one day they all work together on one case with the intention that a concrete plan is created at the end of the day.

Because the concept works so well, we thought it was time to use this concept for our own campaign! Last Wednesday, the 27th of April 2011, we organized a 1%Co-creation with inventive minds of different well-known Dutch creative agencies at Accenture. As a partner of the 1%CLUB, Accenture supports the 1%CLUB with their knowledge, experience, and network.

The goal of the 1%Co-creation was clear: come up with challenging and innovative ideas for a nationwide campaign for the 1%CLUB! The present creative agencies were divided in three groups and after a brief introduction of Anna and Bart about the 1%CLUB the brainstorm could begin!

The inspiring rooms and the positive vibe created an interesting and successful 1%Co-creation. A lot of good ideas were born and presented that evening in the Accenture building in Amsterdam. We will keep you posted on further developments about our campaign!

Bottom Up Marketing

Trough all my adult life I have been forced to see and hear mostly just hollow marketing messages. Just driven to trigger my emotional response to make me buy a product mostly using cliches that don’t tell the whole or even the real story.

The last couple of days at the 1%CLUB were all about marketing. We had an internal meeting about how to generate more exposure and people that wanted to donate to the projects we facilitate on onepercentclub.com. We had a meeting with Accenture about the strategic path to create a presence on the international market. And today we had a super talk with @buccaneer and Jeroen of Purple Cows unlimited about some great marketing campain(s) on the Dutch market.

And now I have to adjust my ideas a bit. Both parties we met were really personally involved in the 1%CLUB. This makes me very happy and I trust we will make the right choices and create some great marketing moments to make people aware of the possibilities we provide to support local projects. Finding the right mix between “old fashion marketing” and social marketing.

Image thanks to this post of Jeroen with more marketing beauties.

Set Godin: ”Is this seat taken?”

Yesterday all Dutch marketers wake up very early. Reason? Seth Godin was giving a presentation about his vision on marketing. No rocket science Seth Godin is telling us. No difficult schedules. ‘Just simple eye-openers’ and inspiring blogs and talks make him one of the best  marketing experts in the world and absolute number one marketing blogger.

Seth Godin wrote several books, ‘Purple Cows’ probaly as the most known one:

You’re either a Purple Cow or you’re not. You’re either remarkable or invisible. Make your choice. What do Apple, Starbucks, Dyson and Pret a Manger have in common? How do they achieve spectacular growth, leaving behind former tried-and-true brands to gasp their last? The old checklist of P’s used by marketers – Pricing, Promotion, Publicity – aren’t working anymore. The golden age of advertising is over. It’s time to add a new P – the Purple Cow. Purple Cow describes something phenomenal, something counterintuitive and exciting and flat-out unbelievable. In his bestseller, Seth Godin urges you to put a Purple Cow into everything you build, and everything you do, to create something truly noticeable. It’s a manifesto for anyone who wants to help create products and services that are worth marketing in the first place.

”Is this seat taken?” Seth was questioning the audience with his last slide.

Are you taking just a chair or are you really making a difference?

If your answer is the first option, you should think by yourself. Don’t just hold the chair, make a difference.

To see more pictures and video’s take a look on Marketingfacts, a Dutch webblog who did -a very nice- live report about the presentation.
